Tasting Room

Indigeny Reserve is a family-owned and operated ciderworks and distillery located on a 160-acre apple preserve on the outskirts of Sonora. Founded in 2007 with the mission to “celebrate, share, and renew nature’s bounty for generations to come”, Indigeny is open to the public for cider tasting, tours and brandy tasting. Bring a lunch along and enjoy the serene, shaded picnic area amongst the towering oak trees. Indigeny also allows it’s visitors to wander around their vast apple orchards to take photographs or just enjoy nature.

If you decide to take the 20-minute tour you will learn about organic apple farming, how cider and apple brandy are produced, their production facilities and a little history. At the end of the tour you are treated with a tasting of Indigeny’s Apple Brandy in their tasting room surrounded by brandy barrels.

In addition to conventional and organic cider as well as organic brandy, Indigeny is also working on their version of flavored vodkas which is created by infusing various fruits within the distilled beverage. This product is still under development but will likely be on the tasting menu within the next year or two.

Consider visiting Indigeny Reserve in October when they have their annual fall festival. This is a family event including the usual tours, as well as food, live music, kid activities, and corn maze.

To reach Indigeny Reserve from Sonora, follow Lyons Bald Mnt Rd four miles past Greenley Rd. Turn right on Apple Hill Dr and Left on Summers Ln. Follow the meandering, tree-lined, one-lane road across the covered bridge to the parking lot. The address is 14679 Summers Ln, Sonora, CA 95370.
