Pioneer Park in Columbia

Pioneer Park is a good sized public park on the outskirts of Columbia. This park has ample room for picnicking with plenty of tables, a restroom and water fountains. In addition Pioneer Park has a baseball diamond, batting cage and a small play structure for the little kids. This park sits right in the middle of 100+ year old gold mine workings which can be seen in the form of rock walls and mine tailings (rock piles) throughout the park and adjacent properties.


Pioneer park is right off N Airport Rd, 1/2 mile northwest of Columbia State Park. Take Parrotts Ferry Rd northwest out of Columbia, after 1/2 mile turn left on N Airport Rd and then your first right into Pioneer Park. Hours of operation are 9 am – 8 pm May 1 – October 1 and 9 am – 6 pm October 1 – April 30.
